I was Buky Schwartz's artist assistant for 9 months in 1992 -93. We went to Soho with a ladder and fine China plates, tea cups, and saucers, often to photograph these precious objects on the cobblestone streets of NYC looking directly down. He was very inspiring to watch work and to be exposed to his sketches and finished works around the studio. As a young artist, I was taken by his rigor and command in performance and his engagement with his artists friends. At that time his studio was on Broadway in Soho.

I send my condolences to his family and his artists colleagues.

Hi Buky
It's Richard previously from Eastern Washington University where you did the "Blue House" video installation. I've Googled you several times to keep track of your career. It's been a long time, but I still fondly talk about our experience and the week you stayed with Jane and I in Spokane. Hope all is well and happy new year. Please say hi to John Handhart when your paths cross.
cheers
